Assurant Health Adds Deductible Incentive

A health insurer will be trying to use plan design to reward insureds who stay healthy.

Assurant Health, Milwaukee, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York, says the new One Decreasing Deductible program, available in some states with the high-deductible Individual Medical One Deductible health insurance policy, will provide a 10% deductible credit twice a year.

“Credits can accumulate year-to-year until the amount they pay of the deductible is as low as $1,500 for individual coverage or $3,000 for family coverage,” Assurant Health says.
