Philip Anderson was named CFO and senior vice president of Spirit AeroSystems, a Wichita, Kansas-based provider of commercial airplane parts with $3.7 billion of 2008 revenue. He replaces Ulrich Schmidt, who retired in October. Anderson, 45, the company's treasurer and vice president of investor relations, had served as interim CFO since then. He joined Spirit in 2006 from Boeing, where he was director of corporate finance and banking.

Idex Corp., a $1.5 billion provider of fluid and metering, health and science technologies and dispensing equipment, has named Mike Yates chief accounting officer and vice president. It is a new position for Northbrook, Ill.-based Idex. Yates, 44, most recently served as the company's controller. Before joining Idex in 2005, he worked at KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

ICF International, a Fairfax, Va.-based company that provides consulting and technology solutions, named Ronald Vargo CFO and executive vice president. He succeeds Alan Stewart, who is retiring. Vargo, 55, was CFO and executive vice president of EDS until it was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2008. Before joining EDS as treasurer in 2004, Vargo spent 12 years with TRW, where he served as treasurer and vice president of strategic planning and business development. Earlier, he worked at Standard Oil and British Petroleum.
