Summit Business Media has announced the official launch of BenefitsPro.com, a source of news and opinion aimed at benefits brokers, human resources managers and retirement advisors.

“BenefitsPro.com covers every facet of the employee benefits business, from employee participation to regulatory issues, as well as the latest in practice management and sales strategies,” says John Whelan, executive vice president and managing director of the media division at Summit.

BenefitsPro.com is part of Summit’s rollout of websites designed to focus on specific industries.

AdvisorOne.com, which started up in October 2010, serves investment advisors.

PropertyCasualty360.com began serving insurers, producers, corporate buyers and claims professionals in the property-casualty insurance industry in January.

The BenefitsPro.com site, which is built on the same open source platform Summit used for AdvisorOne.com and PropertyCasualty360.com, provides instant access to the FreeERISA database, the Buyers Guide for Brokers and Web seminars.

Featured content also includes reporting from Summit’s Employee Benefits Group, exclusive contributions from industry opinion leaders, magazine content from Benefits Selling, mobile functionality, and more.

“For the majority of Americans, the workplace continues to be the primary access point for health care and retirement planning,” says James E. Green, group editorial director. “However, the rate of change in the employee benefits space is accelerating at unprecedented levels, spurred in part by major ongoing regulatory developments like health reform and evolving benefits and retirement product offerings to address the increasingly complex needs of employees.”

“BenefitsPro.com not only provides key players in the industry with a comprehensive amount of information and resources to keep up with the changes impacting the industry, it provides a destination where all benefits professionals can come together as a single community to address the challenges they face,” says Tamara Patterson, the employee benefits group’s publisher. “This dynamic interaction will allow for creative marketing solutions and opportunities for our advertising clients and prospects.”

BenefitsPro.com has also launched BenefitsPro Daily, a free eNewsletter for benefits professionals.
