Life Investors Offers Packaged Plans To Employers

NU Online News Service, March 2, 2004, 9 a.m. EST – Life Investors Insurance Company is offering a worksite product with streamlined underwriting and discounted rates to employers of all sizes.[@@]

The company, in Bedford, Texas, says individual policies offered under the plan are completely portable should an employee change jobs.

Life Investors is offering 5 packaged plans covering different types of medical care received either at home or in health care facilities. Even insureds who receive informal home care under its plan can receive monthly benefits when no charges are actually incurred, Life Investors says. Its new plans also offer extended rate guarantees and inflation protection as options. In addition to packaged plans, the company also provides plans customized to individuals’ needs.

The company offers discounts to employers that cover the cost of at least the base plan for all employees. It will also provide executive carveout plans to employers that wish to cover only a select group of employees.

Life Investors says it will give producers full commissions whenever voluntary rates are used for all or part of a worksite sale.

The company is marketing and administering the plans in eastern states through Golden Care USA, a unit of Bankers United Life Assurance Co., Plymouth, Minn., and in western states through American Independent Marketing, Yakima, Wash.
