MetLife Recaptures UL Liabilities From Reinsurer

NU Online News Service, Dec. 24, 2003, 6:03 p.m. EST – MetLife Inc., New York, says it will be recapturing reinsured universal life policy liabilities from Annuity & Life Re (Holdings) Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda, as a result of a new ruling in an arbitration proceeding.[@@]

The recapture will have no material effect on MetLife’s fourth-quarter results or 2004 results, MetLife says.
