NU Online News Service, Oct. 7, 5:59 p.m. – Nancy Corbett has joined the law firm of Sidley Austin Brown & Wood L.L.P. as a partner in its New York insurance practice.

Corbett, previously the leader of the insurance practice in the New York office of Morgan Lewis & Bockius, has handled mergers, acquisitions and development of new insurance and reinsurance products for many insurers and reinsurers.

Corbett has a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and a law degree from Georgetown University Law School.

Corbett will advise clients in the life and health insurance markets as well as clients in the property-casualty markets, a Sidley Austin spokesman says.

F. Sedgwick Browne and Charlene McHugh, two lawyers who worked with Corbett at Morgan Lewis, are joining Sidley Austin as counsel.

Browne, formerly the head of the insurance practice at Lord Day & Lord, has represented insurers, reinsurers, agents and brokers in many insurance matters. He has a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

McHugh has specialized in insurance regulatory matters. She has a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and a law degree from Loyola University.
