Medical Mutual Names COO

NU Online News Service, April 19, 11:43 a.m. – Medical Mutual of Ohio, Cleveland, a health insurance company, has named John Wider its new executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Wider heads claims and customer service, sales and customer relations, care management, corporate communications and advertising, corporate relations, facilities and administration, and human resources, Medical Mutual says.

Wider has more than 30 years of experience in the health insurance industry. He began his career at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, Newark, N.J., where he held a variety of marketing, sales and operations positions over the course of 22 years. He spent six years with the health care unit at CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, rising to president of CIGNA Mid-Atlantic.
