American General PR Chief Goes To SunAmerica

NU Online News Service, March 13, 10:53 a.m. – SunAmerica Inc., Los Angeles, has named John E. Pluhowski vice president, corporate communications.

Pluhowski will be responsible for managing the company’s public and media relations, employee communications and community affairs. He will also be involved with efforts to promote the SunAmerica brand name, SunAmerica says.

Pluhowski, 47, previously was vice president of corporate communications at American General Corp., Houston, where he was in charge of advertising, public and media relations, shareholder publications and employee communications.

American International Group Inc., New York, the parent company of SunAmerica, acquired American General in August 2001.

Pluhowski earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Maryland in 1976 and his master’s degree in educational communications from Ithaca College in 1978.
