Corvias Branches Out from Military Housing into Colleges

EAST GREENWICH, RI-Launched in 1998 as Picerne Military Housing, the development and management company founded by John Picerne has acquired a new name and a new focus. Corvias Group, headquartered here, now encompasses both PMH and the newly launched Corvias Campus Living division. CEO of Corvias Group, Picerne tells GlobeSt.com the crossover into student residences was a natural extension of the company’s skill sets.

It was that crossover potential, rather than a desire to jump onto the student housing bandwagon, that motivated Corvias’ entry into this sector, says Picerne. “It’s eerily similar to how the military portfolio looked 10 or 15 years ago, when they were suffering through budgetary constraints and having to make decisions on putting money into the core mission versus putting money into infrastructure, most notably housing,” he says.
