Remax Commecial Office To Open Downtown

CHICAGO-RE/MAX, a company traditionally known for its experience in residential real estate, is opening its first office in Chicago exclusively for commercial real estate. John O’Hara and Chuck Nunley are opening the office at 120 N. LaSalle St.

O’Hara and Nunley also operate RE/MAX Gateway in Gilberts, IL and development company Gateway Properties of Illinois LLC, based in Lake in the Hills, IL. “As developers, we wanted to add the commercial brokerage business to the development business,” O’Hara says.

RE/MAX Gateway, which handles commercial and residential real estate, will continue to operate but O’Hare and Nunley felt it was important to open an office that dealt solely with the commercial side “Having the residential component in the office, we feel dilutes our impact in the commercial market,” O’Hara says. There are a total of 40 Remax offices across the country that are specifically focused on commercial real estate, O’Hara says. Some of the other offices that deal exclusively with commercial real estate are in Indianapolis, New York City and Los Angeles, he says.
