NEW YORK CITY-Cushman & Wakefield has hired Bruce L. Hartman, to serve as chief financial officer of the firm. He will report directly to the firm’s president and chief executive officer, Bruce Mosler.

Hartman will be given the task of providing the “vision, leadership and strategic planning” for the global finance and global information technology functions, according to company officials. He will also act as an advisor to all levels of management on financial and business issues regarding the firm’s domestic and international operations. He replaces Tom Dowd.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Hartman was chief financial officer of Foot Locker and May Department Stores. He also held positions at Netco Automation, Dayton Hudson Corp. and Service Merchandise Co. He was a member of the management team that participated in the restructuring of the Woolworth Co. into Foot Locker.

“His financial acumen and leadership skills will provide a major advantage for our firm and our clients on a global basis,” says Mosler. Cushman currently manages 430 million sf of properties.
