PORTLAND, OR-Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Co. is the firm’s new locally based regional manager. The post, which has been vacant for more than a year, has been covered by Gary Lucas, a San Francisco-based managing director. Rodiles joined Marcus & Millichap in 1991 as a research assistant in the Long Beach office. He became an agent in 1992, reaching associate status in 1993. In 2004, he joined the management team as sales manager of the firm’s Ontario office and concurrently began training to be a regional manager. Prior to M&M, he was also a vice president for both Banc One Leasing Corp. and Fleet Capital Corp. Rodiles tells GlobeSt.com one of his goals is to grow the office from 10 brokers today to between 25 and 35 brokers within two years. “I‘m looking to bring some of my experience to the table and recruit and train and grow this historically smaller operation into a more typical-size Marcus & Millichap office,” he says. “If I have anything to say about it, it will happen really quickly.”Rodiles says he has a solid base of brokers to work with. In addition to being strong in apartment sales, as is the case with most M&M offices, he says it has strength in office and industrial properties with Mike Kapnick, a senior associate director of M&M’s National Office and Industrial Properties Group, and in retail with Gary Imbrie and Joe Blatner, who has a net lease group that is “picking up a lot of steam and getting a lot of business done.”"We’ve had some brokers leave over the past year, but that is typical of an office that hasn’t had a locally based manager for a couple of years,” Rodiles says. “The good news is there are a lot of strong brokers in Portland who started here, which shows the company knows how to train and put good people out there.”
