Marble Company Expands In Southfield

SOUTHFIELD, MI-Marmo Meccanica USA, a distributor of precision processing machinery for marble and granite, has announced the opening of a 10,000-sf parts facility in Southfield. The new facility handles increased demand from marble shops for replacement parts for the company’s line of edge polishing machines and bridge saws for processing marble and granite.

The facility on Bridge Street is being managed by Delta Diamond Tools and doubles the parts department size and adds two new employees, company officials explains. The new space also allows for a $1 million inventory that includes hundreds of parts, including motors, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, cutting blades and adhesives.

The new facility can ship parts overnight and track them via UPS, company officials say. Marmo Meccanica USA, is the North American distributor of Marmo Meccanica SPA machinery and equipment. Marmo Meccanica SPA is an Italian manufacturer of precision processing machinery for marble, granite and engineered stone fabrication. Marmo Meccanica manufacturers bridge saws, edge polishing machines, and CNC equipment.
