The Clubhouse Restaurant Property Changes Hands

ATLANTA-Lenox Square’s upscale restaurant, The Clubhouse…Where You Belong, is now under new ownership, as are the restaurant’s two other locations in Costa Mesa, CA and Oakbrook, IL. Chicago’s Clever Ideas, Inc. purchases the properties and some of the Chicago-based company’s debt in a $11.4 million transaction.

“This was an opportunity for us to acquire a first class operation at a very attractive price,” Clever Ideas chairman and CEO Lee Suckow said in a press release. “We feel that the management team now in place at The Clubhouse is on the right track to getting all three locations performing to expectation by early 2002.”

The Lenox Square restaurant opened in 1999, just one year after the flagship operation in Oakbrook debuted. Celebrities Jack Nicklaus, Kevin Costner, Fred Couples and Robert Wagner were partners in the establishment.
