SEATTLE, WA-Commercial Real Estate Women Northwest has selected its 2002 board of directors. Deborah Berg will head the organization, representing 150 members in the greater Seattle area, in 2002.

Berg is an attorney with Tousley Brain Stephens PLLC, a full-service Seattle firm specializing in commercial real estate. Other 2002 officers installed were president-elect Shawn Rush — a principal at Gensler — and Peggy Emerson, secretary/treasurer.

CREW-Northwest is the local chapter of the nationwide National Network of Commercial Real Estate Women.

“The organization’s focus is to provide networking, business opportunities and leadership development for women in commercial real estate,” Helen Wattley-Ames, a CREWNE board member, tells GlobeSt.com. However, Wattley-Ames is quick to point out that membership is not exclusive to women.

The changing of guard in 2002 will be accompanied with a new logo and change of name, says Wattley-Ames. As of Jan. 1, the local chapter will be known as CREW-Seattle. She explains that Seattle is no longer the only chapter in the Northwest, with another operating in Portland.

Members of the 2002 CREW-Northwest board directors will include: Carleen Kinch (administrator at Olympic Coast Investments), Linda Larabee-Dawson (senior manager at Investco Management Services), Rebecca McIntyre (assistant director at the University of Washington Real Estate Office), Barb Nystrom (property manager at Martin Smith Inc.), Libby Stevenson (assistant VP at Kennedy & Assoc. Real Estate Counsel Inc.), Helen Wattley-Ames (director of property management at Market Management Inc.) and Gayle Wilder (president of G. Wilder & Associates).

The organization’s new national delegates are Tracy Lent-Anderson (project manager at Martin Selig Real Estate) and Gretchen Young, MAI, (principal at Shorett Kidder Mathews & Segner).
