Red Lion Adds Former Ramada To Chain

OMAHA, NE-Red Lion Hotels & Inns says it recently added the formerly Ramada Hotel Central, a new 215-room hotel here. The property, located at 7007 Grover St., isoperated by NPHD Inc. and managed by Hotel Managers Group L.L.C., under a franchise agreement with Red Lion Hotels Inc., a franchise subsidiary of BeverlyHills, CA-based Hilton Hotels Corp.

“There continues to be strong interest from the Midwest for Red Lion Hotels & Inns that fits in nicely with our development efforts and plans to become a national brand,” says Tom Murray, chief operating officer of Red Lion Hotels & Inns and senior vicepresident based in Vancouver, WA. “Our Omaha location in America’s heartland offers both diverse recreational and cultural opportunities year-round and will allow Red Lion to gain further exposure with business and leisure travelers.”

Business facilities include six meeting rooms with 5,500 sf of meeting space and can host groups up to 250. A self-service business center is available with a computer, copier, fax machine and Internet access. Emad Alwer, general manager of the Red Lion Hotel Omaha, says he is excited to have access to Hilton’s reservation system, marketing, sales organization and e-business initiatives.
