Royal Grand Drops Hotel From Project

ROYAL, OAK, MI-Chrysos Development and Management Co. says the boutique hotel component has been eliminated from its Downtown project here, The Royal Grand. The developer plans to seek site plan approval in October to move forward with the mixed-use project on Washington Avenue at Fifth Street, which will now consist of first floor office/retail, followed by on-site parking, and in-town condominium residences on floors five through twelve.

“The city has been extremely supportive of our efforts, and with the Schostak Brothers hotel planned at 1-696 and Woodward Avenue, we feel that we can now focus completely on meeting the demand for sophisticated in-town residences,” says Jack Hanna of Chrysos Development. “Eliminating the hotel component gives us greater flexibility of design without the need for complicated underground parking and multiple easements. This allows us todeliver a quality product at lower price points for our buyers.”
