Cummins Onan Puts 94,000 SF On The Market

ST. PETER, MN-Cummins Onan has hired United Properties to lease or sell its two manufacturing facilities in this town about 70 miles southwest of the Twin Cities. The industrial brokerage group of the Bloomington, MN-based commercial real estate firm will try to find new tenants or owners for the facilities, which have a combined total space of 94,000 sf.

In a related assignment, Cummins Onan has hired United to sublease a 13,000-sf engineering facility at Valley View Business Center in Eden Prairie, MN. United isteaming up with Mankato-based Fisher Commercial Properties to manage the St. Peter assignment, says Jon Rausch, United’s lead broker on the project.

“While Cummins Onan is offering to relocate some employees, most will choose to remain in St. Peter, and this offers prospective companies a built-in base of employees who have a strong commitment to the community and to these facilities,” Rausch says.

Cummins Onan, part of the power generation division of Columbus, IN-based Cummins Inc, will closed down its operation at the two facilities later this year when it consolidates its Minnesota operations at its Fridley location and sends part of its manufacturing requirements to Mexico.
