Owner-Occupied Building Trend Triggers Land Buy

HOUSTON-James McKellar and Jaime Rivera of R&M Partners have bought 2.1 acres in northwest Houston in an apparent move to capitalize on Houston’s trend toward small owner-occupied buildings.

The site is located at West Little York, just west of Hollister Road. Keith K. Edwards of Caldwell Watson Real Estate Group has represented R&M Partners in the deal.Keith P. Grothaus, also of Caldwell Watson, has brokered the deal for the seller, John Lightfoot Trustee. Grothaus tells GlobeSt.com that R&M Partners plans to build an owner-occupied, office-warehouse facility on the property.

In another transaction, Andergauge USA Inc. has leased a 14,000-sf industrial facility in the Willowbrook Industrial Park in the FM 1960/Willowbrook submarket, also in northwest Houston. Andergauge is an international drilling company with offices in Houston, Scotland, India and the Middle East. Thad Hickman and Tyndall Yaap, both of Grubb & Ellis Co.’s Houston office, have represented the building owner, Capital Commercial Development. Gary Mabray of Colliers International has acted on the tenant’s behalf.
