AllianceTexas Tenant Becomes Building Owner

FT. WORTH-Trans-Trade Inc., a global logistics provider, has set a July 1 deadline to move into the 114,6000-sf Gateway 29 building in AllianceTexas. The firm, based in Grapevine, TX has just closed on the purchase of the structure.

The three-year tenant, MagneTek., has vacated the site after shutting down the business that had been located there since Gateway 29′s delivery in 1997. Gateway 29 is situated along Texas 170, east of Independence Parkway in the Ft. Worth bounds of the 15,000-acre AllianceTexas. Trans-Trade intends to operate an import compliance and fulfillment and third-party logistics division out of the building. But, the future game plan is to relocate its headquarters from 1085 E. Northwest Highway. Eventually, about 80 workers will be employed at the facility.

“AllianceTexas is a perfect fit for our growth strategy,” says Bruce Galbraith, Trans-Trade’s chairman and CEO for the 17-year-old company. “This development…will prove to be one of our greatest assets.”

Hillwood Properties president Mike Berry says Trans-Trade’s addition will definitely be a boon to other AllianceTexas companies. Trans-Trade is considered a leading provider of air cargo and ocean export and will, he says, “help increase the development’s position as one of the world’s top logistics and fulfillment centers. In 1993, Trans-Trade had leased space at the Alliance Crossing retail-office center and then relocated into a leased site at the Alliance Operating Services facility.
