Fespar Enterprises Plans New Hotel

SANTA BARBARA-Fespar Enterprises has submitted drawings for a new hotel to the city’s Historical Landmarks Commission. The new, smaller hotel would be located next to the company’s Fess Parker Doubletree Resort, on the corner of East Cabrillo Blvd. and South Calle Cesar Chavez, and would be environmentally conscious. Once the project is approved by the HLC, the company will submit plans to the Planning Commission and City Council.

The proposed hotel will be 86,000 square feet with between 50 and 65 rooms. The property will have a staff building and two- and three-story buildings for the guestrooms. According to the Parker Family, who runs Fespar Enterprises, the hotel will be “world class” with “exemplary architectural style that enhances the understated elegance of Santa Barbara and appeals to visitors and locals alike.” The development will additionally offer 160 parking places for guests.
