[IMGCAP(1)]HACKENSACK, NJ-While most of the headlines today are about layoffs and cutbacks, one New Jersey-based company has announced plans to continue its growth activities and expand within the Northern New Jersey marketplace. NAI James E. Hanson has hired Susan Trovati as sales associate in the firm’s Hackensack office, as well as Greg James, who will head up Hanson’s new capital markets division.

Trovati will work with Peter A. Cohen, director of NAI Hanson’s Government Services Group, to help provide the firm’s government entity clients with the real estate functions needed to operate government facilities, including lease and facility audits, sale/leaseback services, market survey of municipal properties, construction audit services and auction services. She will also be involved in the sale and leasing of industrial, office and retail properties.

Immediately prior to joining Hanson, Trovati was the president of Rojo Consulting, a firm that specialized in small business and individual organizational services. Prior to that she served as the senior vice president of marketing at Health Dimensions, a medical education firm, where she was responsible for designing marketing plans, making new business presentations, conducting market research and analysis and increasing the company’s annual growth rate.

[IMGCAP(2)]In addition to the new hires, Hanson has plans to expand personnel and expertise into the areas of mortgage brokerage financing, multifamily investments and workout advisory services, while also adding a focus on medical, educational and municipal consultation services.

“In the past 24 months, we have increased our staff by 25% and are continuing to expand,” William C. Hanson, SIOR, and president of NAI James E. Hanson, tells GlobeSt.com. “As a third-generation, privately held company, we have always been flexible in our ability to capitalize on market cycles similar to the one we are currently experiencing,” he says.

In 2008, NAI James E. Hanson expanded its physical presence into the Morris County market with the opening of its Parsippany office. The office is overseen by Josh Levering, SIOR, a senior vice president with the company. Parsippany first opened with a core group of five associates, but according to Hanson, the office is now equipped for more than double that and the plan is to continue to expand by adding new brokers and support staff. He adds, “We are also considering opening other new offices in New Jersey as the opportunities present themselves.”
