New York City Brothers Buy Shuttered Restaurant

PLANO, TX-Two New York City brothers are in the midst of making over an 8,193-sf shuttered restaurant for their second location in the states. The former August Moon location was on the market nearly six months for $1.6 million.

Kirk and So Bui bought building on 1.3 acres at 2300 N. Central Expressway property from Zander Bui Properties Corp., led by Sam Tsay from Dallas. The Bui brothers expect to open the Vietnamese-cuisine restaurant in the coming weeks, says Wee Ping Lo with Pacific Century Realty in Dallas.

In a press release, Chris Hung, vice president of Pacific Realty, says the seller plans to deploy the gain into other real estate ventures. According to Jeffrey Ngo, also a vice president with Pacific Realty, the buyer’s plan is to make over the 20-year-old building into a premier Vietnamese dining destination for the far north suburbs.

According to Collin County Appraisal District, the property is assessed at $1 million. The brokers say they “had to revisit some of the terms several times” before they got a signed deal.
