EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ-In late summer, a team of five headed by Jeff Heller and Bill McCaffrey bolted Cushman & Wakefield of NJ for Trammell Crow Co. Now, C&W has struck back, recruiting three senior-level brokers from TCC. The new C&W hires include James Postell, who once headed TCC’s New Jersey operations, along with David O’Sullivan and Nick Kim.

Calling the trio a “top-tier team,” Joe Harbert, C&W’s New York City-based COO for the New York metro region adds that they “have been incredibly successful in securing and servicing major corporate accounts. They understand the unique needs of large corporate space users.”

Postell, most recently a principal at TCC, comes over with the title of executive director. “He is a great addition to our team because he has strong management experience in addition to his foundation in real estate brokerage,” says Gil Medina, who himself was promoted to executive managing director and put in charge of C&W’s New Jersey operations this past summer.

O’Sullivan, who has a dozen years of experience, comes over with the title of director, as does Nick Kim, whose emphasis has been on real estate finance, logistics and supply chain requirements for Asian-based companies. “He understands the needs and challenges of Asian companies wishing to establish or expand their presence in the US,” Medina says of Kim. “This provides us with the opportunity to expand our reach into a community that is growing in importance in the US.”

The hirings are part of what Medina calls “a new effort to build a strategic organization.” The three join other top-level C&W additions, including managing director Kim Brennan, who came over earlier this year from the New York office of CB Richard Ellis, and executive vice president Robert Rudin, who was hired away from the Saddle Brook, NJ office of CBRE. C&W also recently relocated its New Jersey headquarters to a larger space within the Metropolitan Executive Towers, its long-time home here, and moved its Central New Jersey office to larger space in Edison.
