LONG BEACH, CA-Hilton Hotels will open a new, $5 million executive meeting center at the Hilton Long Beach early next year, according to Jay Oxford, general manager of the property.

Oxford says the new meeting facility has received provisional approval from the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC), an industry group whose approval is highly sought in the hotel world.

The new meeting center will comprise 12,000 sf and will be custom-built to meet IACC specifications, Hilton says. Among other features, the meeting spaces will feature T-4 high-speed Internet availability and individual climate controls.

The Hilton Long Beach and Executive Meeting Center will be part of a portfolio of approximately 20 hotels within the Hilton Family that currently operate or have IACC Conference Center facilities under development. The Hilton is at 701 West Ocean Blvd. in Downtown Long Beach, about four blocks from the city’s 334,000 square foot Convention & Entertainment Center. The hotel features 393 rooms, a full-service upscale restaurant, a 4,500-sf fitness facility, a full-service business center and other amenities.

The International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1981 to promote quality and uniformity in conference centers around the world.
