Canyon Crossings Wins Another Nod

RIVERSIDE, CA-The Riverside Planning Commission has unanimously approved Transcan Development LLCs 499,000-sf Canyon Crossings retail project, a proposed power center at the junction of the 215 and 60 freeways.

The vote by the planning commission is the latest in a series of recent approvals for the Alamo, CA-based developer. Its project also has secured the blessings of the March Joint Powers Authority, which has influence over development near March Air Reserve Base, and the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, which has no formal approval authority but is influential with local governing bodies.

The Transcan development, planned for a site that measures nearly 85 acres, is expected to include a mixture of large-scale retailers, specialty stores, restaurants and cafes. The project is in the entitlement phase and is estimated to be open by late 2004. The Canyon Crossings retail project is part of Canyon Springs, a 180-acre master-planned commercial hub in the city of Riverside, near the border of Moreno Valley.
