GlobeSt.com Receives Journalism Honor

NEW YORK CITY-GlobeSt.com took home second place honors in the “Best Web Site” category in the 53rd Annual Journalism Awards presented by the National Association of Real Estate Editors. It is the second time the site has received this distinction.

GlobeSt.com offers up-to-the-minute local news coverage as well as worldwide coverage. The site boasts 65,000 unique visitors each month, 100,000 daily e-mail subscribers, one million page views per month and an average visit to site over 12 minutes.

Nearly 200 professional journalists from across the US competed in 16 different categories for this year’s NAREE awards. Winners were selected by a panel of expert judges from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. The judging panel was chaired by Prof. Patrick S. Washburn, a former news reporter and editor. NAREE, founded in 1929, is the only professional association for the nation’s journalists covering residential and commercial real estate for the consumer and trade media.

Additional honorees include Greg Thomas of the Times-Picayune of New Orleans who was the overall individual winner, Newsweek for the best general circulation magazine report and San Diego Union Tribune for the best real estate or home section over 200,000 circulation.
