Westminster Showcase Draws More Than 300

WESTMINSTER, CO-More than 300 commercial brokers, developers and lenders from the area attended the 12th annual Westminster Showcase event in this city northwest of Denver. The Showcase highlights current and future development projects.

City officials supply brokers and developers with current information on the city’s transportation projects, existing space that is available, and how to partner with the city on economic development projects.

Some of the developments highlighted included Mandalay Gardens, a proposed multi-modal transit village along the US 36 that the city is annexing; redevelopment opportunities in south Westminster; and more than 750 acres of land along I-25 available for business park and regional retail development.

Speakers included Westminster Mayor Ed Moss; City Manger Brent McFall; Joe Hollister from the Staubach Co.; Mark Campbell of Southwestern Investment Group; Frank Kelly from CB Richard Ellis; and Rich Krauss of Acumen Development.

”Cities along he US 36 corridor and throughout the metro area are seeing increased retail and commercial vacancies,” says Susan Grafton, economic development director for Westminster. ”This event is just one way that we are addressing the vacancies and the slowing economy head on to show business and project developers that Westminster is very business-oriented.”
