CSM Lodging Repeats as 'Developer of Year'

ST. PAUL, MN-CSM Lodging, a business unit of CSM Corp., has been named as Marriott’s Developer of the Year for the second time in as many years. “They have contributed to the tremendous growth and increase in market presence and share of limited service Marriott hotels,” says Daryl Nickel, vice president of Marriott International.

Nickel’s recently presented the award to CSM Lodging owner Gary Holmes at the Marriott Owners Conference in Palm Desert, CA.

Based in St. Paul, MN, CSM Lodging’s portfolio spreads over nine states in the Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, Boston, Naples, Detroit, Des Moines and Milwaukee markets. Their Marriott hotels include eight Courtyards, six Residence Inns, eight TownePlace Suites and three SpringHill Suites. CSM has 30 open hotels and has two under construction.

All of CSM’s Residence Inns and SpringHill Suites are higher than 90% in guest satisfaction scores and rank in the top 10%. In addition, CSM’s TownePlace Suites, Eden Prairie, MN has won Marriott’s “Hotel of the Year” for 1998 and 1999. In 1998, CSM received Marriott’s Construction Excellence award and has been instrumental in building and implementing a new prototype for Courtyard by Marriott hotels.
