GlobeSt.com UPDATE: Cisco Denies Reports it Will Sublease New Building

HERNDON, VA-Speaking out on a recent industry rumor that San Jose, California-based Cisco Systems, Inc. will sublease its 189,000-sf building, the company’s Washington area representative CB Richard Ellis flatly denies that Cisco will seek new tenants for the Dulles Technology Drive structure. The Internet networking equipment maker says it will use the space, but is not yet saying for what purpose.

“Cisco has vehemently denied the [the suggestion],” Margaret Hirl of CB Richard Ellis tells GlobeSt.Com after an inquiry into the matter. “They were shocked and disappointed at the rumor.” The idea that Cisco might decide to sublet the space was undoubtedly spurred by the fact that the company pre-leased Dulles Executive Plaza II late last year, but has yet to move into the building. However, Hirl insists that Cisco officials “have future plans for the space” and that they will announce those plans when appropriate. “There are a lot of decisions being made right now,” she adds.
