Colonial Properties Names Two New Execs

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Colonial Properties has made two executive appointments in its retail division.

Daryl Mangan, as executive vice president of the division will be in charge of the company’s retail portfolio. John Hughey, as executive vice president of retail development, will focus on expanding retail development opportunities. Mangan and Hughey will report to Reynolds Thompson, Colonial Properties’ chief operating officer

Mangan has 30 years of retail real estate experience with Safeco Properties, Equitable Real Estate, Federated Department Stores and Cole National Corp. He has managed a $6 billion retail portfolio made up of 75 regional malls and 40 retail properties.

Colonial Properties Trust is a diversified REIT that, through its subsidiaries, owns 111 multi-family, office and retail properties in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. The company operates 16,700 apartment units, 3.4 million sf of office and 15 million sf of retail.
