Surgical Company Leases Sunnyvale Building

SUNNYVALE, CA-Intuitive Surgical Inc., a growing surgical equipment manufacturer, has leased 88,000 sf in a flex building here with the intention of leasing the rest of the 105,000-sf building in two years. The building is located at 950 Kifer Rd. in Sunnyvale. The company is relocating from 1330 West Middlefield Road in nearby Mountain View.

Rents in Sunnyvale average around $21 per sf, annually, triple net for this type of space.Intuitive signed a five-year lease. It was represented in lease negotiations by Andy Koenig and Craig Zodikoff with Equis Corp. David Haugh of Grubb & Ellis and Mark Schmidt of Insignia represented the landlord, RNM Technology Drive.

Haugh tells GlobeSt.com that the two-story building will provide convenient access for Intuitive’s employees, since the company is only moving about four miles, and the space is close to the expressway.
