Engler Appoints Brown to MEDC Boards

DETROIT-John W. Brown, chairman, president and chief executive officer of the Stryker Corp., will serve on the corporate and executive boards of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

DETROIT-Governor John Engler has appointed John W. Brown to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation corporate board. The Governor also appointed Brown to the MEDC executive board, which exercises the powers of the corporation.

Brown, of Portage, MI, is chairman, president and chief executive officer of the Stryker Corp. He will be replacing James Hackett, of Grand Rapids, who has resigned.

Brown’s appointment to the executive board expires in 2008.
