Military Provider Forges Inroad to Civilian Market

HOUSTON-Entertainment Technologies & Programs Inc., a Houston-based provider of entertainment services and amusement gaming primarily for military bases, is going civilian with a 4,100-sf store at 17300 Saturn Lane near NASA in far southeast Houston.

The store will feature equipment for DJs, such as the sale and installation of sound, lightand video equipment including intelligent lighting and intelligent lighting systems, video distribution systems and club and PA sound systems. The store is operated under the auspices of Entertainment Technologies’ subsidiary Performance Sound & Light. The company is expecting the store to begin producing revenues of $30,000 within six months as well as begin operating on a 40% to 50% gross margin.

Mark Madamba, president of Performance Light & Sound, says “the company has been aware of the financial benefits to opening a retail DJ store and it’s nice to finally have the resources to bring that to fruition.” Madamba says the company began working with only military night clubs and now offer light, sound and video systems to other military organizations, including ballrooms, bowling alleys, community centers, conference halls and outdoor pavilions.
