Houston's Home Sales Dip 1.2% in September Reporting

HOUSTON-September reporting shows Houston's existing homes sales are down 1.2% from the same period last year. But it's not all bad news: year-to-date has shown a slight increase.

HOUSTON-September reporting shows Houston’s existing homes sales are down 1.2% from the same period last year. A total of 4,440 properties had been sold last month in comparison to 4,495 sales recorded in September 1999, according to the Houston Association of Realtors.

Year-to-date through the end of September, existing home sales have totaled 42,600, up 0.3% from the 42,491 that had been sold in the similar nine-month period of 1999. The median price of single-family existing home in Houston was $119,600 in September, up 12.8% from September a year ago.
