Advanced Fiber-Optic Networks to be Installed in Empire State Building

NEW YORK CITY-The Empire State Building will be one of 11 properties throughout Manhattan to have a new infrastructure installed. This new system will enable high-speed Internet access, as well as integrated voice, data and application services. The fiber-optic backbone will allow for unlimited bandwidth.

The other properties involved in this agreement are 350 Fifth Ave., 60 East 42nd St., 250 West 57th St., 200 Fifth Ave., 1107 Broadway, 112 West 34th St., 501 Seventh Ave., 1333 Broadway, 1350 Broadway, 1359 Broadway and 1400 Broadway.

The agreement was signed with Gillette Global Network, Inc., a full-service broadband communications and application service provider that has been in business since 1994. Gillette will install its Broadband Building Infrastructure Deployment System. The company uses its own facilities and fiber-optic backbone, providing the services and personalized customer care.

When completed, our new infrastructure will allow us to ‘turn up’ cost effective broadband communications services virtually immediately to building tenants. This win greatly augments our already prominent New York footprint.”
