Black Named JLT Latin America COO

NU Online News Service, Aug. 2, 12:29 a.m.EDT?London-based Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, plc, saidit has named Margo Black chief operating officer of JLT LatinAmerica.[@@]

Ms. Black will be based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She waspreviously a managing director with Heath Lambert Brazil Re and hasmore than 20 years experience in the industry in both London andLatin America. She has held senior positions with SCOR and MunichRe.

Ms. Black's appointment follows JLT's agreement with UK-basedHeath Lambert Holdings Limited to acquire HLH's insurance andreinsurance businesses in Colombia and Peru. In Mexico, JLT, inpartnership with the 25 percent minority shareholder, will assumeHLH's reinsurance interest.

The firm also said it is entering into an exclusiverepresentative agreement with HLH's former subsidiary inVenezuela.

JLT said it has an established 15-year presence in Brazil, withoffices in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. The new combined operationincludes 500 employees.
