Bessette Now Heads PIA Umbrella Group

Mr. Bessette succeeds outgoing president James E. Reed who hadheld the position for the past 20 years.

Mr. Bessette has been with PIA for 20 years, serving asexecutive director of the Professional Insurance Agents of NewYork, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Hampshire.

PIA represents independent insurance agencies, brokerages andtheir employees in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and NewHampshire. The corporation also manages the Professional InsuranceWholesalers Association, the Insurance Brokers Association of NewYork, the Council of Insurance Brokers of Greater New York, theYoung Insurance Professionals associations of New York, New Jerseyand Connecticut, and the PIA Group Insurance Trust.
