The Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI) announced that 29 publicrisk managers will be given grants to help them attend the 2008Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) Conference and Expo.

PERI, a nonprofit research institute focused on risk managementtraining and education, also announced the 2008 winners of the PERISmall Entity Scholarship Award.

Each winner will receive a scholarship valued at $1,000 infinancial assistance to attend the PRIMA Conference, June 1-4 inAnaheim, Calif.

“PERI has been offering scholarships for eleven years to helpsmall public entities and community nonprofit organizations takepart in the educational sessions offered during the PRIMAConference,” explained Gerard Hoetmer, executive director of theFairfax, Va.-based PERI.

“The opportunities afforded during PRIMA to learn about new riskmanagement practices and to meet colleagues from across the nationare invaluable,” he said.

Recipients of the 11th Annual Small Entity Scholarship Programinclude cities, counties, school districts and a communitynonprofit organization.
