A Washington-based captive organization said it is holding aseminar Tuesday on how the health care industry can obtainaffordable professional liability coverage using risk retentiongroups.
|The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia(CIC-DC) said the session is titled “Solving Health Care LiabilityRisks Through Alternative Risk Transfer.”
|The meeting at the Marriott Metro Center will provideinformation on how alternative risk transfer (ART), and morespecifically risk retention groups (RRGs), can provide an effectivesolution, CIC-DC said.
|The curriculum shows how ART and RRGs can offer solutions foraffordable professional liability coverage. Among other topics,CIC-DC said the program will also feature information onWashington, D.C.'s new captive statute.
|Seminar speakers include Larry Smith, vice president, corporaterisk management, MedStar Health; Jon Harkavy, vice president &general counsel, Risk Services, LLC; Allen Taft, president, TheTaft Companies; William Boone, senior vice president, Marsh; andThomas M.
