A Washington-based captive organization said it is holding aseminar Tuesday on how the health care industry can obtainaffordable professional liability coverage using risk retentiongroups.

The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia(CIC-DC) said the session is titled “Solving Health Care LiabilityRisks Through Alternative Risk Transfer.”

The meeting at the Marriott Metro Center will provideinformation on how alternative risk transfer (ART), and morespecifically risk retention groups (RRGs), can provide an effectivesolution, CIC-DC said.

The curriculum shows how ART and RRGs can offer solutions foraffordable professional liability coverage. Among other topics,CIC-DC said the program will also feature information onWashington, D.C.'s new captive statute.
