Insurity, a national provider of business-processing servicesand technology to the property-casualty insurance industry, hasnamed Jerry Markland to the position of chief technologyarchitect.
|Mr. Markland has 25 years of experience as an executive,enterprise architect and system engineer working in the design anddevelopment of software tools for the insurance industry, saidHartford-based Insurity.
|He previously served as chief technology officer with BenefitsTechnology Group (BTG), where he was responsible for strategy andproduct development of human resources and benefits-relatedtechnology for brokers and general agencies, said Insurity.
|The company said Mr. Markland designed and built an informationinfrastructure to support BTG's product development and consultingorganization.
|Mr. Markland also was a co-founder and CTO of StarNex, a companythat linked brokers and insurance companies online, Insurity said.He previously held positions with AMS and StarSolutions, designingand developing various insurance processing software applications.His projects included rating systems and Web-based systems forlife, health and property-casualty businesses.
