I never imagined myself as a game show host, yet that's the role I'll be attempting to pull off this week in Orlando at the annual Workers' Compensation Educational Conference. I'm scheduled to moderate a panel headlined "Name That Emerging Exposure," giving away modest prizes to those who guess what new horrors our speakers might reveal.

I'm privy to the new workplace hazards to be raised by Robert Hartwig, soon-to-be president of the Insurance Information Institute, and Jennifer Tomilin, senior vice president at Zurich North America, so I won't give their "secrets" away. But I do have one doozy of my own to lament.

What are we going to do with the exploding number of addicts who cannot put down their BlackBerries? Beyond their rude behavior–how many of you have tried having a dinner conversation with someone while they keep peeking furtively into their lap to catch the latest incoming message?–there is a repetitive stress factor at work here.
