Montvale, N.J.-based excess and surplus lines insurance brokerJimcor said it has created a new division for the placement ofhard-to-place risks.

Coryn F. Thalmann, chief executive officer of Jimcor, said thedivision, named Jimcor Select Risk, will handle the large and morecomplex risks the firm continues to see, requiring exclusivebrokerage attention.

“Our goal at Jimcor has always been to find ways to meet theclient's needs first,” Mr. Thalmann said in a statement, “andJimcor Select Risk is centered on what will work best for theclient.”

Mr. Thalmann said the new division would provide better serviceto producers and company partners with accounts assigned toindividual underwriters who are skilled and knowledgeable in theirspecific field.
