The union representing the remaining pilots at Pan American Airways has won a court order temporarily barring the carrier from shifting more work to a non-union airline and reducing pay rates, rules and working conditions. The union had sued Pan Am owner Guilford Transportation Industries, alleging the company had violated federal labor laws by firing union officers, ignoring the grievance process and trying to shift operations to Boston-Maine Airways, which does not have a union.
