Debevoise & Plimpton has chosen another US lawyer – capital markets specialist James Scoville – to become its new London managing partner following the decision of current head Andrew Sommer to return to the firm’s New York HQ.

Scoville, who has been at the firm’s 60-lawyer London arm since 2002, having served a previous stint there from 1990 to 1993, is set to take over the management of the 12-partner arm this month.
