Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Davis Polk & Wardwell have advised Assurant on its $2bn (£1.05bn) initial public offering (IPO), the largest listing by a US company since China Life’s float last year.

The IPO saw Assurant, the US subsidiary of European finance giant Fortis, offer 92 million shares in the company at a price of $22 (£11.57) per share, raising $2bn.
