McDermott Will & Emery’s merger with elite Italian firm Carnelutti has triggered the creation of a new independent practice spread across Paris, Rome and Padua, as more details of the shock take-over become clear.

The US firm’s merger with Italy’s largest law firm, reported earlier today (5 September) by legalweek.net, will result in Carnelutti’s affiliated Paris arm linking up with a 30-lawyer practice from the firm’s Rome office and the majority of the Padua branch.
