Businesses now send and receive 16 billion
e-mails a day worldwide. By the end of 2005 that figure looks set to leap to 36 billion, according to analysts IDC.

The average corporate e-mail user generates 5MB of e-mail per day – a figure expected to rise to 8.6 MB by 2006. Storage demands are spiralling, e-mail is cited as the biggest pain point inside organisations today and the average UK white-collar worker now spends 25% of their day managing e-mail.
