The NCUA announced it would conduct a webinar that aims to helpcredit unions learn more about promoting financial literacy, financial inclusion and financialcapability. “The Pathway to Financial Well-Being” was scheduled forMarch 30 at 2 p.m. Eastern time.

The free webinar is part of the agency's National FinancialLiteracy Month activities.

The program will provide participants with valuable informationon several topics, including:

  • The link between financial literacy and financialwell-being;
  • The NCUA's financial literacy resources;
  • Building a successful financial literacy program based oncredit union size and member demographics; and
  • Improving financial literacy efforts through local and nationalpartners.

Under the Federal Credit Union Act, promoting financial literacyis a core credit union mission, the NCUA said in a release. Whilecredit unions serve the needs of their members and promotefinancial literacy within the communities they serve, the NCUA saidit works to reinforce those efforts, raise consumer awareness andincrease access to credit union services. The NCUA alsoparticipates in national financial literacy initiatives, includingthe Financial Literacy and Education Commission, an interagencygroup created by Congress to improve the nation's financialliteracy and education.
