As the year winds down, human resources departments at creditunions across the country remain active. Read on to learn who movedup the ladder at cooperatives, as well as at NASCUS and the CUSOShare One, this past week.

|

The $1.7 billion Pawtucket Credit Unionin Pawtucket, R.I. announced three new promotions. JosephSilva (pictured), who has been with the credit union forthree years, most recently serving as vice president/commerciallending, was promoted to senior vice president of commerciallending. John Clarkson, who has been with thecredit union since 2004 and most recently served as assistant vicepresident of security, was promoted to vice president of security.Finally, Brian McMahon was promoted to vicepresident of commercial lending. He previously served as assistantvice president/commercial lending for Pawtucket.

The $1 billion, Pittsfield, Mass.-based Greylock FederalCredit Union promoted Jodi Rathbun-Briggsto senior vice president/chief lending officer and MichaelStoddard to executive vice president. Rathbun-Briggspreviously served as vice president of commercial banking forGreylock and will replace chief lending officer Charles A. Bercury,who is retiring at the end of 2015. She has been with Greylock forfive years, serving as assistant vice president of risk managementand vice president of commercial banking. Stoddard has been withGreylock since 2014. Previously, he spent 30 years at ConcordSavings Bank in Concord, N.H. and Maine Bank & Trust inPortland, Maine.

Scott McFarland (pictured), president/CEO for the$645 million, Saint Joseph, Mich.-based Honor CreditUnion, received the Credit Union Professional of the Yearaward from the Michigan Credit Union League at its 2016 awardsceremony on Dec. 8. In addition, Katie Berry,director of human resources for Honor, was awarded YoungProfessional of the Year by the MCUL. Berry joined Honor sixyears ago as a benefits coordinator.

The $77 million Hopewell Federal Credit Unionin Heath, Ohio promoted Joe Boudreau to branchmanager at the credit union's Heath location. Boudreau has nineyears of financial industry experience including nearly seven yearswith HFCU, where he has held positions as a member serviceassociate as well as an assistant branch manager.

The $514 million Heritage Federal Credit Unionin Newburgh, Ind. hired Charles Lackey as branchmanager for its Main Office Branch in Newburgh. Lackey has morethan 17 years of experience in the financial industry andpreviously served as assistant branch manager at WoodforestNational Bank in Evansville, Ind. for seven years. Prior to that,he served as branch manager for American General Finance inEvansville, Ind. for 10 years.

The $2.8 billion Veridian Credit Union inWaterloo, Iowa promoted EditaBegic (pictured) to manager of account resolution.Begic has been employed at Veridian for 11 years, most recently asa branch manager. Veridian also promoted IvanaMijatovic to branch manager. Mijatovic has been anemployee of the credit union for 10 years and most recently servedas member contact center team lead.

|

Steve Gilliland, a North Carolina-based publicspeaker and author, has been appointed to the board of directorsfor the $308 million Piedmont Advantage CreditUnion in Winston Salem, N.C. He served as an associatedirector for the credit union board before being appointed fulltime, and brings a plethora of experience in business and branding.

The $1.8 billion Truliant Federal CreditUnion in Winston Salem, N.C. promoted BillJones (pictured) to vice president of digitalexperience and payments. Jones joined Truliant in 2012 aselectronic funds transfer card services manager. He began hisfinancial services career at M&T Bank as manager of ACH andcard operations, and has directed card services, deposit operationsand ATM operations at two other credit unions.

Three employees at the $1.3 billion Volunteer CorporateCredit Union in Nashville, Tenn. will accept promotions in2016: Phillip Cochran was promoted to senior vicepresident/chief investment officer, SusanStack was promoted to senior vice president/CFO andCasondra (Cassie) Fivecoat was promoted todirector, marketing and product development.

|

The Business Services team at the $564 million, CarsonCity, Nev.-based Greater Nevada Credit Unionpromoted four employees. Jesse Hartford(pictured), who has been with GNCU for nearly five years, waspromoted to member business lending relationship officer.Holly Speir, who joined GNCU one year ago, waspromoted to business services manager. NoahElsfelder has also been with GNCU for one year and waspromoted to small business administration officer. Finally,Tracy Reitnauer, who has been with GNCU for twoyears, was recently promoted to business lending supportsupervisor. Reitnauer has more than 29 years of experience inbanking.

The $2.7 billion Redwood Credit Union in SantaRosa, Calif. hired Kathleen Parnell as vicepresident of finance. Parnell previously served as chief operatingofficer and co-treasurer at Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. and astreasurer at Morgan Stanley Private Bank, N.A. Most recently, sheserved as CFO at First Federal Savings & Loan Association inSan Rafael, Calif.

Steve Lindquist (pictured) returned to the$135 million, Reno, Nev.-based Great Basin Federal CreditUnion after a hiatus from the cooperative as a registeredrepresentative, licensed insurance agent and financial consultant.He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial servicesindustry.

The $4.2 billion, Colorado Springs, Colo.-based EntFederal Credit Union hired Brian McQuinnas an in-house legal analyst supporting the organization's riskmanagement and compliance departments. He joined Ent through alegal residency program that provides new lawyers with employmentand training opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable intoday's legal employment marketplace.

Nichole Seabron joined NASCUS asits vice president, legislative/regulatory counsel. Before joiningNASCUS, Seabron was an attorney advisor with the Federal EmergencyManagement Agency in Washington. Prior to that, she served asfederal compliance counsel/regulatory affairs for CUNA, also inWashington. Before that, she was a corporate complianceofficer/assistant vice president for Bank of America, Private Bankin Washington.

Share One, Inc. in Memphis, Tenn. hiredJose Garcia as senior sales representative for itsWestern Division. Garcia previously worked for a San Diego-basedcredit union within the lending and the back office sides of thebusiness before expanding his industry expertise with a major corevendor. His experience includes the startup of two coreprocessing companies, the latest taking place in 2010.
